Steven R. Koehler
Mr. Koehler is an exploration geologist with over 30 years of experience working on projects across various stages of development. Over the course of his career, he has established a particular expertise operating along the Carlin and Battle Mountain – Eureka Trends in Nevada. To date, Steven has been directly involved in eleven Carlin-type gold discoveries, six of which have become producing mines. Notably, Mr. Koehler was Senior Geologist on the initial discovery team at Cortez Hills, which was developed into an operating mine . He was awarded the 2005 Thayer Lindsley International Discovery Award for his contributions to that discovery. Cortez Hills is situated approximately 10 kilometers northeast of the Company’s Toiyabe Project.
Richard L. Bedell
Mr. Bedell has 40 years of international exploration experience with some of the largest mining companies in the world. He has previously held positions with Homestake Mining as part of their global target selection team, and later ran their technical group for exploration worldwide. Over his long career Richard has also done exploration for international majors BP Minerals and Rio Tinto. Mr. Bedell was a Co-Founder of AuEx Ventures, which was credited with discovering the Long Canyon deposit in Nevada, and ran the exploration program for 2 years after its joint venture with Fronteer Gold, who later purchased AuEx for $280 million, and ultimately sold to Newmont for $2.3 billion. He also was a Co-Founder and President of Renaissance Gold, a gold exploration company focused on the Great Basin area of the U.S.; the company recently merged with Evrim Resources to create Orogen Royalties.
Dr. Chris Osterman
Dr. Osterman is an exploration geologist with over 40 years of experience in the mining industry across all stages of project development and in regions including North and South America, Africa, and Asia. Notably, Dr. Osterman founded Sundance Minerals Ltd. in April 2007 which owned the Turquoise Canyon Project and was ultimately acquired by First Mining Gold in 2015. Westward is now earning into a 100% ownership interest in Turquoise Canyon through its recent acquisition of Momentum Minerals Ltd. Dr. Osterman held the roles of Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Director at First Mining Gold from April 2015 to April 2019 where he was integral in helping them build out a gold portfolio in Eastern Canada through a series of acquisitions of private and public companies.
Dr. Alan Carter
Dr. Carter in a geologist and mining entrepreneur with over 30 years of industry experience. Over the course of his career, he has successfully co-founded and led several companies from inception to sale, including Peregrine Metals (sold to Stillwater Mining), Cuprum Resources (sold to B&A Mineração), and Magellan Minerals (sold to Anfield Gold, now part of Equinox Gold). He has also been directly involved in the discovery of five gold deposits, including four in Brazil. Dr. Carter is currently President and CEO of Cabral Gold, and Chairman of Altamira Gold and Fremont Gold. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Nottingham and a Ph.D. in gold geochemistry and structural geology from the University of Southampton.
